4 new IBS coating machines

Double IBS capacity in 2015
LASEROPTIK enlarges from four to eight industrial IBS systems e.g. for ultrafast optics, complex filter designs or in the UV. With a custom built giant machine, LASEROPTIK also offers coatings on substrates up to 2 metres in length, made by IBS.

LASEROPTIK now designs and produces dispersion-matched pairs of broadband chirped mirrors for even better GDD compen-sation.




Research & Development

uses its own highly developed thin film design software for standard research and development and several specialized programs for optimization purposes.

The latest coating machines are linked to their operators computers to make a direct transfer of coating designs and measured process data possible and share the data in the intranet.

Transmission and reflection can be measured in the range from 120 nm up to 50 mm with PERKIN-ELMER spectrometers and self constructed ones. Forward- and backward scattering can be registered in the wavelength range 190-800 nm by a self constructed measuring device with a Coblentz sphere.

In co-operation with LASERZENTRUM HANNOVER and the Institute of FEINMECHANIK UND OPTIK in Jena, new coating techniques, measurement devices and improved coating materials are developed. With the research partners LASERZENTRUM HANNOVER and LASERLABOR GÖTTINGEN, Dr. Ebert established damage resistant coatings throughout the spectral range of 130 nm - 12 µm.

Surface inspection of substrates and coatings is done with ZEISS differential interference contrast microscopes, non contact interferometers and whitelight profilometers.

A climate chamber and other equipment for environmental testing enable us to deliver optics fully certified for customer applications. LIDT is measured at our close-by partner LASERZENTRUM HANNOVER. Furthermore LASEROPTIK provides coating and other services as an industry partner for several national scientific research projects such as FLUX, TACO, INTION and NANOMORPH.
