The first building, named "Optikscheune", was erected 1992.To match the appearance of a rural lower saxony village, the `manufacture` was erected in the style of an old German farm house.
The second building, erected in 2002 outside the village border and named "Laserhof", solved the space problems of the fast growing manufacture.
Today, it also accommodates the administration and the large optics inventories.
To save energy and environmental resources, the waste heat of the coating chambers is ecologically used for heating of the laboratories and offices. No cooling water is needed from outside.
LASEROPTIK has a recycling and waste management in place and is supplied by 100% ecological power from regenerative sources.
A lot of protected species such as salamanders, frogs, owls and bats live in the natural habitats on the company´s ground.
In 2009 a nest on a pole has been erected on LASEROPTIK´s
land by the Ebert family in order to support the resettlement of the endangered white stork (lat. ciconia ciconia
Despite the various activities, LASEROPTIK
does not intend to become ISO-14000 certified, because of the philosophy to protect the environment based on very own belief and not based on the motivation to showcase a certificate.
